So far...there has been new ground broken on several levels. So...lets get into it...

Allure

The first project of the year brought the talent and new outlook of The Cool to the forefront. With the addition of Victoria Page, we are now a solid trio. For those of you who thought The Cool consist of more than three people think again. We have affiliations with a plethora of wonderful people, but at the end of the day its up to the THREE of us to get business of The Cool done. With that said, everything fell into place on the day of the ALLURE project. The models were very classy women during every phase of the project. The video gave the setting a natural feel to our environment. Nothing was forced, and we didn't have to choreograph anything. It was truly an honor to be a part of that experience.

Chris and I have several weekly meetings (even when we're in chill mode) about how we can make The Cool brand better. One topic that kept coming up was how can we keep from repeating what we already accomplished. As real artists, we're always trying to take our skills to the next level versus passing off the same art. We came to two conclusions: We should focus on original conceptual projects and figure out a way to include models outside the confines of Mississippi. The result was...

Fighters

We decided to take the second project of the year to the home of the 2010 Super Bowl Champions! That's right...The Cool invaded New Orleans! We were skeptical about such a move on the grounds that we were still trying to establish The Cool brand in Mississippi; and attempting such a project in another state was definitely a risk. But the project was a success because we planned EVERYTHING from A to Z. There were even Mississippi models that wanted to be in the project! Our post meeting of the project showed us one thing...models outside of Mississippi loves The Cool. Oh...and just incase you're wondering...we are focusing on more out-of-state projects. People from all over the country has shown love and support to The Cool and what better way to make history than to take our talents on the road. Get ready everyone...it's about to go down!!!

IBJB Productions

Current stages of projects are underway. I must admit that I am not use to taking so long to do things. But due to the nature of these projects, trust me when I say that once these projects take off...hold on tight. For those of you that think the production of these projects are smoke & mirrors...please keep thinking it. It makes these victories so much sweeter! Quality will not take a back seat to ignorance.

Switching gears...

A close friend of mine spoke to me the other day about changing her overall way of doing things. As I listened to her, I quickly realized that it was not for the better. She became tired of having non-relationships and constantly being tempted with men that are already taken. Now...some of you reading this may know of a woman or women like this and could care less as long as it doesn't affect you. But this woman is very special to me. She is indeed a true friend. From issues with grad school assignments, to filling missing holes in everyday life as far as how to handle scenarios, she has always been there when I needed her. Believe me when I say that I can count on one hand as to how many non-related women (with fingers still remaining) I would go to bat for. I explained to her that God is testing her faith and she must continue to put her best foot forward. Because she has a child that looks up to her, it wouldn't be a good look for her to fall into the dark ways of the world. Although she is a very strong woman, I see the cracks in her armor. All I can do is ask God to give me the strength to mend those cracks and help her through this stage in her life...

other -ish...

Entering this year on the market has allowed me to see many interesting things. I find it hysterical that women aren't accustom to seeing a man taking care of his children on his own. Granted...I don't tend to them 24 hours a day due to working, but since they've popped out the womb, they've lived in the city of Daddy.

I've also noticed that women has a warped way of looking at men sometimes. Riddle me this...is it alright to try to get to know a man AFTER the three-to-five men before him wiped their asses with your emotions? HELL NO!! Especially when the man was in the picture BEFORE those three-to-five guys.

I'm still learning the ways of the world, and always open to hear peoples spin on the things I experience on a daily bases. As long as God allows me to breathe his air, I strive for daily improvement. During this quest, I asked God to remove the detrimental people from my path. Well...they're going away. Some that I felt I needed around...aren't. I racked my brain as to why, but I hear God tell me, "This is what you asked for...but there's more". So when I'm not working on a project, hanging with my little women, or at my job, I thank God for the one thing I haven't had in years: clarity.

2009 Review: Prelude to The Overall Overhaul

As I move forward to the new year, I have taken progressive steps in my quest of improvement. But they were not without setbacks. Yes...my omelet is made of several broken eggs.

This year, I acquired my Masters Degree in Entertainment Business. With my Mass Communications background, this degree will be very useful! However, I have been hit with a few realizations about life after Grad school: The job market is set up to only help the friends or relatives of people in higher positions, and brown-nosing is a terminal disease. If you do not follow these standards of "making it", it would seem that acquiring any type of degree would be nothing more than a glorified hobby. As I try to cope with this, I am also paving an alternative way of achieving my goals. Pray for me...

IBJB Productions, my production company, was officially started this year. The company has been around since 2001, but now that school is officially over for me, all of my focus can now go on this vision. I have several projects under my belt, but I plan to use my full effort on all upcoming projects. Stay tuned to "smell what I'm cooking"...

The Cool, my company affiliation, has gone through a lot of changes this year to say the least. We have started with six members and a prosperous future. Now...we are cut in half with a prosperous future. Although the departure of our members were unfortunate, the "loss" has made The Cool a much stronger group. Branding a unique style of business has several people (supporters and haters) taking notice. As much as I would love to go into details, at this point all I can say is: "If you think The Cool peaked in 2009, prepare to pick your jaw up in 2010".

I have this belief that once I turned 30 years old that if I was not in a relationship I would not be. I keep my inner circle very small because people want something for nothing these days. I was prepared to accept that all the virtuous women were taken. But then it happened...I found one! ...or did I? She was a woman from my past so I thought that because we were older things would be better than before. And it was...or was it? What killed the relationship in the past ultimately killed it in the future. Looking back on the situation, I should not have tried to preserve a dead relationship from the past. This is what happens when you try to stick with the familiar. Bottom line: You can not graduate from college taking tenth grade courses.

As the end of this year closes, I have looked at all the triumphs and setbacks knowing that the best is yet to come. In my business and personal life, God has given me the blueprint to make 2010 a defining year for me. Yes...my omelet is made of several broken eggs. But it is the best omelet I have ever tasted...

GENESIS

So...here I am. I'm not really what you call a "blogger", but time brings on a change. This is a good way to track the things that are going on in this major motion picture I call life.
